Blue Ridge School gave a big shoutout to its Students of the Month with a fun Jaguar Walk! These students, chosen for being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready, took a proud walk while classmates, staff, and even the Lady Pumas from The Dalton Academy cheered them on. Way to go, Jaguars!

Third graders at Roan School recently connected with Ranger Anne E. Wilson from Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, learning about the discovery of Miocene mammal fossils in Nebraska and the unique friendship between rancher James Cook and Lakota Chief Red Cloud. Ranger Wilson shared how these discoveries and connections preserve both ancient history and Lakota culture, linking closely with the students' social studies lessons!
City Park School recently hosted a lively Block Party, proving once again that these Panthers know how to party! Families enjoyed a night filled with fun, food, and exciting math activities that turned learning into a memorable experience for all. Thank you to everyone who made the event so successful!

Dalton Public Schools is proud to shine a spotlight on its 21st Century Programs as we celebrated Lights On Afterschool on Thursday, October 24. This annual event, launched in 2000 by the Afterschool Alliance, celebrates the critical role of afterschool programs in enriching the lives of children, families, and communities.
Dalton Public Schools is proud to offer four such programs: Kid City North, Kid City South, Cat City, and Cat University, serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Dalton Public Schools is proud to recognize National School Bus Safety Week! Observed in the third week of October, this week unites parents, students, teachers, drivers, and administrators to emphasize the importance of school bus safety.
Schools across the district celebrated Unity Day today by wearing orange to promote kindness, inclusion, and togetherness. Unity Day is a national initiative to stand against bullying and unite for kindness.
At City Park School, Dalton High School cheerleaders volunteered to paint faces, students made friendship bracelets to symbolize togetherness, and Mrs. Jones taught classes about positiviTEA and the power of kindness.
City Park School students wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month with a lively parade around the school! To celebrate, students colored flags representing various Hispanic countries and proudly marched with them, showcasing the vibrant cultures they’ve been learning about throughout the month. It was a fun and colorful way to honor the end of Hispanic Heritage Month together!
The Dalton Board of Education proudly recognized outstanding students at their Regular Meeting last night. George Marte and Diana Victoriano were honored for being selected to Junior Achievement (JA) of Georgia's inaugural Nineteen Under Nineteen class, a prestigious recognition of young leaders in the state. Additionally, CenCen Wan and Hope Hambrock were celebrated for being named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor reserved for top academic achievers nationwide. These students' accomplishments exemplify the excellence and dedication found within Dalton Public Schools.
Park Creek School's nature trails just got an exciting upgrade! Dr. Carl Wilms, alongside partners from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, recently installed educational signs provided by the Tennessee Aquarium and the Coosa River Basin Initiative. These new signs will enhance students' outdoor learning experiences for years to come!
