šŸ¦šŸ“–šŸMrs. Nelson's Kindergarten class reviewed informational text by acting out sequence text structure. In their lesson, they learned how bees make honey! They became bees and took turns sipping nectar from flowers and taking it back to the worker bees at the hives made of hexagons. There, they saw that their nectar was turned into honey for the bees to eat during winter!

šŸ¦ā™»ļøOur 3rd Grade Nature's Helping Hands have been working hard to learn everything they can about recycling! They recently visited the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority to sneak a peek behind the scenes at all of the action that happens at our local landfill. While there, they learned about the importance of recycling to limit the amount of trash going into our landfill. Once back at school, they apply what they have learned by using a recycling guide to help them sort trash. These experiences are helping our Lions understand how they can utilize their STEM work to improve the world around them -even outside of school! #BrookwoodSTEM

šŸ¦šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøOn behalf of Brookwood PTO: Get Ready for Our First-Ever Color Run! šŸŒˆšŸƒā€ā™‚ļø

Lion Parents,
We’re thrilled to announce that our first-ever Color Run is less than two weeks away! Flyers went home yesterday with everything you need to know about this exciting new event.

šŸ’”Here are the highlights:
Date: Friday, October 3
Location: Playground (during Specials)
Who: Every student will participate — and parents are welcome to come cheer or join the fun!
What to Wear: Old clothes that you don’t mind getting colorful. (Or order our special Color Run t-shirt!)

šŸ’› How it works:
Students will run, walk, or skip through the course while volunteers add a burst of color. You can purchase color bottles to toss yourself — or buy bottles for your student to shower participating teachers (teachers will be revealed on event day!).

šŸ“Œ Important deadlines:
T-shirt orders (to guarantee your size): Friday, September 19
Color bottle purchases: Monday, September 30
Every dollar raised goes right back into our amazing school — supporting programs, supplies, and experiences for all our Lions.

šŸ‘‰ If you’re a business owner and would like to sponsor this event, please contact Ashley Hunter (ashleystrangehunter@gmail.com) by September 19.

šŸ“„Return your order forms, or place your order online here:
