Dalton Public Schools Students Selected for Prestigious GA All-State Chorus

In November, students from Dalton Public Schools joined nearly 6,000 of their peers from across Georgia in auditioning for the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All-State Chorus. This rigorous audition process required personal preparation, dedication, and participation in after-school rehearsals, as well as extensive practice at home.

Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that two of its talented students have been selected to represent the district at this prestigious event, which will take place on February 15, 2025, at The Classic Center in Athens, GA.

Jack Redding, a student at Hammond Creek Middle School, will make history as the first-ever participant from Hammond Creek to earn a spot in the GMEA All-State Chorus. His hard work and commitment to excellence have set an incredible milestone for the school.

"We are extremely excited to have Jack Redding representing HCMS at the 2025 GMEA All State Chorus in February as the first student from Hammond Creek to ever participate," shared Layne Mucha, Hammond Creek Middle School Chorus Teacher. "We are so proud of all our talented singers, and we are looking forward to this exciting opportunity in February!"

Joining him is Hayden Poe, a senior at Dalton High School, who will perform in the highly competitive Senior High Men’s All-State Choir. This marks Hayden’s third time being selected for the prestigious GMEA All-State Chorus, highlighting his dedication to his craft and exceptional musical talent.

"Hayden has worked very hard to prepare for his audition while also preparing for all his other performing arts endeavors," shared Riley Hooper, Dalton High School Choir Director. "I am so proud of the work that he has done in order to make it into this prestigious ensemble!"

This achievement not only showcases the remarkable efforts of these students but also reflects the strength of Dalton Public Schools' music programs and the support provided by teachers, families, and the community.

Please join us in congratulating Jack Redding and Hayden Poe on this incredible accomplishment. We wish them the best as they represent Dalton Public Schools at the 2025 GMEA All-State Chorus!
